They sell it as a Marauder in Germany too, coming with a 250cc and a 125 cc engine.
Iīve been sitting on a 250 and had a 125 for one day when my Savage was in the shop for
itīs 6.000 kms inspection.
I like the idea of a 250 cc thumper, and before buying the Savage I was considering buying
a 250 cc which seemd to be enough for my purposes.
I would go for a GN 250 however, which is cheaper and appears to be a more "honest" bike, i.e.
is what it is and doesnīt want to look like a cruiser which it really isnīt (too many revs for
too little torque). In Germany the GN 250 provides 17 hp (DIN) with a maximum torque at 4.000 rpm only,
the 250 Marauder has 20 hp (DIN), maximum torque at 7.000 rpm as far as I remember.
There are luggage racks available for the GN 250 which makes it an ideal commuting bike for short trips
and for shopping.
Just my two cents.
BTW, there was a GN 400 available some years ago. It isnīt sold anymore in Europe, maybe itīs still to
be found in the States?
